“Once Polonsky mentioned representing the Russian community of Crimea in the Russian Federation, the Ukrainian delegation lodged a protest and I asked for the Chairman’s permission to make a statement as per the procedure. However, Polonsky ignored the Chairman’s remarks and continued with his speech. That caused the Ukrainian delegation and other delegations unwilling to accept Russia’s annexation of Crimea to leave the session hall," said Prokopchuk.

According to Prokopchuk, delegates from the USA, Great Britain, Turkey, the Czech Republic, Sweden, Lithuania, Latvia and other countries walked out on Polonsky, thus preventing him from finishing his speech.

Later on, the Russian delegation lodged a protest over Polonsky’s speech being interrupted but it gained no support.

The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry called a representative of Russia-occupied Crimea addressing an OSCE conference a provocation organized by Kremlin.
