OSCE concerned with deteriorating situation in Eastern Ukraine

Ukraine’s Armed Forces General Staff Chief Viktor Muzhenko and OSCE Deputy Head Alexander Hug noted the significant conflict deterioration in Donbas and agreed to exchange relevant information.

- At the meeting, the parties noted the deteriorating situation in the South-Eastern Ukraine. In particular, Ukraine’s Armed Forces informed the OSCE international mission on the Russian terrorists using weapons with caliber prohibited by Minsk agreements, including MLRS, 120 and 82 mm mortars, reported Saturday the press service of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry.

The OSCE spokesman Alexander Hug, in turn, assured the Ukraine’s Defense Ministry the OSCE is ready to assist in normalization of the situation in Donbas.

At the end of the meeting, the parties determined to exchange information on all matters concerning implementation of the provisions outlined in Minsk protocol and memorandum, in particular, removal of certain caliber weapons from the demarcation line and rapid response to ceasefire violations in the Donetsk and Lugansk regions.
