KYIV (QHA) -

The opposition of the Russian occupiers to the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people presupposes gradual replacement of the latter by citizens of the Crimean Tatar community called "Kyrym", the leader of the Crimean Tatar people, the Presidential Commissioner of Ukraine for Crimean Tatar people Affairs Mustafa Dzhemilev said in an interview with the Fakty newspaper.

This is evidenced by a letter marked "Confidential", written by the First Deputy Director of the FSB in the Crimea to the name of "Head of the republic" Sergei Aksyonov, which fell into the hands of the Mejlis.

Thus, the letter says:

“In order to successfully promote "Kyrym" among the national minorities of the Crimea, it is necessary to maximize the holding of various cultural events on its behalf, as well as joint programs for the development of the region and legislative initiatives in support of the representatives of "Kyrym" as the only Crimean Tatar movement.

Successful implementation of the above plan will allow us to take control of the activities of public and political organizations of national minorities and ethnic groups in the territory of the Republic of Crimea.”

According to Dzhemilev, this is part of an information campaign to discredit the Mejlis and its leaders.

Earlier, Dzhemilev told Belarusian journalists about the situation in the Crimea, the persecutions on the annexed peninsula and the significance of sanctions against the Russian Federation.
