WASHINGTON (QHA) -

The U.S. President Barack Obama has commented on a new package of sanctions against Russia imposed for cyber attacks, the press service of the White House reports.

The presented sanctions package is not a complete response to Russia. According to Obama, the additional non-public response to Russian actions will be introduced if necessary.

The U.S. President also stressed that Russia not only influenced the presidential election with the help of cyber-attacks, but also put pressure on American diplomats in its territory:

“The pressure was provided by the employees of special services and the police, and it could not go unanswered,” Barack Obama said.

As QHA reported, the U.S. has introduced new sanctions against Russia. The decree states that the sanctions are linked to the "actions to undermine democracy in the U.S." and are introduced "to deal with the national emergency with respect to significant malicious cyber-enabled activities.”
