HAVANA (QHA) -

The visit will be the first by a sitting US president since Calvin Coolidge went to Cuba 88 years ago.

On March 20, President Barack Obama has arrived in Cuba for a historic visit.

Obama is scheduled to meet Cuban President Raul Castro to discuss trade and political reforms. Later on, the two presidents will have an official dinner followed by a news conference. No meeting with Raul’s brother Fidel is scheduled, reports ВВС.

Interestingly, police arrested several members of the Women in White movement, a group made up of political prisoners’ wives, several hours prior to the US President’s arrival. The women were placed under arrest outside a church where they were trying to stage a weekly protest.

Obama is expected to meet political dissidents in Cuba, including members of the Women in White movement.
