Zair Smedlyaev, head of the Central Election Commission of the Crimean Tatar Qurultai, considers it is obvious that the investigator, calling Nikolai Polozov as a witness in the Ilmi Umerov case, plans to deprive him of the opportunity to participate in the proceedings as a lawyer, according to his Facebook page.
“A new phenomenon in the judicial practice, in Crimea!” he wrote.
Nikolai Polozov was a lawyer in the cases of Hayser Jemilev and Nadezhda Savchenko; now he defends the Deputies Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Ahtem Chiygoz and Ilmi Umerov.
Today FSB investigator I.A. Skripka has notified Polozov that the Simferopol District Court is to consider the decision to obtain permission for his questioning on December 13.
