BERLIN (QHA) -

The state of implementation of the Minsk agreements since the last meeting of leaders of the "Normandy format" is expected to be assessed. The leaders will discuss the further steps as well, "Interfax-Ukraine" informs.

Moreover, following the meeting on the Ukrainian question, the heads of Russia, Germany and France are to discuss the situation in Syria.

Prior to the arrival of the Russian President in Berlin, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and French President Francois Hollande held talks.

Notably, German Chancellor Angela Merkel said that she does not expect a breakthrough in stabilizing the situation in the East of Ukraine after the "Normandy format" summit in Berlin.

Earlier it was reported that before the "Normandy format" summit with the participation of Russian President Vladimir Putin, community activists have brought dozens of bloody teddy bears, which symbolized the children who died during the war in Syria.

As it is known, the Russian Federation participates in the conflict siding with Bashar al-Assad's regime and regularly bombs Syrian cities, causing significant civilian casualties.

Last time a meeting of "Normandy four" countries took place a year ago in Paris.
