Since the blockade was put in place a week ago, not a single truck carrying food or other goods has entered occupied Crimea, said Refat Chubarov, Mejlis Chairman.

“Not a single truck has crossed the border with Crimea since the launch of the blockade. Importation of smuggled goods the occupation authorities were profiting from has also been put a stop to,” said Chubarov.

Imposed on September 20, the blockade has been joined by a number of patriotic organizations, including 100 members of the Kherson volunteer battalion and police officers, who have been providing security for the activists.

Refat Chubarov is also pushing for cutting off electricity supplies to Crimea.
