SIMFEROPOL (QHA) -

Head of Mejlis of Crimean Tatar people Refat Chubarov named “pluses” and “minuses” of work of Crimean Parliament for 100 days.

Chubarov noted that no point of decree “on guarantees to restore rights of Crimean Tatars and their integration to Crimean society”, adopted on March 11, 2014, was implemented.

“Then Parliament of Autonomous Republic of Crimea adopted a decree “on guarantees to restore rights of Crimean Tatars and their integration to Crimean society”. It included consistent measures, that should have been implemented in order to establish the mechanism to restore Crimean Tatar rights, in particular issues of representation of Crimean Tatars in government, return of Crimean Tatar toponyms, settlement of the repatriates etc. None of the point was implemented”- Chubarov said.

Chubarov called the decision of Crimean Parliament to declare Oraza and Qurban Bayrams official holiday positive measure.

“It was positive decision to make Muslim Oraza and Qurban bayrams official holidays in Crimea. Still, it should be noted there is no basic decrees concerning Crimean Tatar people as indigenous people of Crimea. There are no laws, that make us feel confident on our land. That is a big minus”.

On June 25, Crimean Parliament declared Muslim Qurban and Oraza bayrams official holidays in Crimea.
