The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved a new package of additional sanctions against Russsia, Channel 5 reports Arseniy Yatsenyuk, Prime Minister of Ukraine, as saying at a cabinet meeting.
The Prime Minister also said the government had submitted the new package for consideration of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine. He went on to say that the sanctions against Russia imposed by the US government had taken effect since yesterday.
"The Cabinet of Ministers has approved a new and extended list of sanctions against the Russian Federation and is submitting it for consideration of the National Security Council,” said Yatsenyuk.
The new US sanctions, that took effect on August 11, 2015, are directed against Russian companies, as well as companies controlled by members of Putin’s inner circle, individuals collectively referred to as the "Lake" cooperative.
