A Russian political expert, journalist Alexander Nevzorov said he is surprised the occupation authorities have resorted to repressions against the Crimean Tatars, and added that they do it "off the subject," according to the "Listok."

- The authorities do not understand that one shouldn’t goad these people into fury. Chechens will seem quiet angels compared to what Crimean Tatars are capable of, said the analyst.

He went on saying that the Crimean Tatars is a very united and strong nation.

- I just know them as people who are extraordinarily brave, decisive and, shall we say, very peculiar in their manners. Plus, do not forget, another stupid thing - a woman, Crimean Prosecutor, is at the tip of the spear. It is doubly humiliating for Crimean Tatars to get all these instructions, edifications and prohibitions from a woman, said Nevzorov.

The last quote, apparently, concerns the so-called Crimean Prosecutor Natalia Poklonskaya who April 13, 2016 rendered a decision to suspend the activities of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People. This, in turn, has evoked a wide response in the world. Many representatives of the European Policy and international organizations spoke out against restrictions on freedom of speech and human rights violations in annexed Crimea.
