The Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu stated that Negotiations on Syria in Astana can not be held due to the continuing violations of the ceasefire, the AA agency reports. According to the Head of the department, the major culprit behind the ceasefire regime violation is the power of Bashar al-Assad.
“Violations of the armistice agreement recorded in Syria. "Hezbollah" militants, Shiite groups and the forces of Bashar al-Assad regime are behind these violations,” Cavusoglu said.
If the violation of the ceasefire regime is terminated, the negotiations between the conflicting parties will be held in Astana on January 23.
Earlier QHA reported that the regime of Bashar al-Assad claimed full control of Aleppo and took the active offensive against the Syrian opposition in the valley of the Barada in Damascus province.
December 21, the foreign ministers of Iran, Russia and Turkey Mohammad Zarif, Sergei Lavrov and Mevlut Cavusoglu during the trilateral meeting in Moscow adopted a joint communiqué on further actions to resolve the conflict in Syria. The document stated that Turkey and Russia take on the obligations of the guarantors of the future agreement between the Syrian government and the opposition.
