April, 20-21 NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg is to pay an official visit to Turkey due to the preparation for the NATO summit in Warsaw due to be held on July, 8-9.
Stoltenberg is to meet with the President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu and National Defense Minister Ismet Yilmaz.
- During the meetings, in addition to preparations for the Warsaw Summit it is planned to discuss the situation along the NATO's south-eastern border, as well as the measures to ensure the security of Turkey Alliance, according to a statement on the official website of the Turkish Foreign Affairs Ministry.
The parties are to exchange views on the problems in the Middle East and North Africa, in particular, the situation in Syria and Iraq, as well as the fight against the terrorist organization ISIL and NATO activities in the Aegean Sea.
