Mustafa Jemilev, Leader of the Crimean Tatars people, shared the information about his meeting with the President of Poland Andrzej Duda via his Facebook page.

The Commissioner of the Ukrainian President on Crimean Tatars Affairs Mustafa Jemilev also met with the Deputy Foreign Minister of Poland, responsible for the Eastern Partnership Policy and Security, Marek Ziółkowski and a diplomat and adviser to Polish President Ursula Doroszewska.

The meeting was also attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to Poland Andrey Deshchitsa, Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people and President of the World Congress of Crimean Tatars (WCCT) Refat Chubarov, a member of the WCCT Coordinating Council in Poland Nedim Useinov and delegate of Qurultai of the Crimean Tatar people Rustem Umerov.

The main topic of the Mustafa Jemilev’s meeting with the Polish President Andrzej Duda was associated with problems of occupation and the ways of Crimea de-occupation. The leader of the Crimean Tatars expressed his gratitude to the President and Polish Foreign Ministry for the strong support of the Ukrainian position, especially in Crimea issues, and the continuation of sanctions against the aggressor.

Education was one of the issues discussed. In particular, they talked about the possibility for Ukrainian youth to pursue higher education in Poland. The discussion of this topic will continue at the Polish Ministry of Science. 

The NATO Experts' Forum Summit is to be held in the Polish capital of Warsaw from 7 to 9 July.

The Commissioner of the Ukrainian President on Crimean Tatar Affairs Mustafa Jemilev and Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Refat Chubarov will take part in this event representing the interests of Ukraine and the indigenous people of Crimea – the Crimean Tatars.
