Law enforcement officers detained more than 100 people near the building of the Ukrainian Parliament, the Verkhovna Rada, according to the press service of the National Police.

“More than 100 people who resisted police officers, were brought to police stations. Criminal proceedings have been launched under Article 345 of the Criminal Code (threat or violence against a law enforcement officer),” the police said.

Law enforcers noted that 9 grenades of RGD-5, fuses, Molotov cocktails and 5 smoke mines were discovered and seized in the tent camp during the investigation. All items were sent for examination.

In addition, the press service informed that because of the resistance, four policemen were taken to the hospital of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for medical assistance.

Earlier, Deputy Head of the National Police, the Head of the police in Kyiv Andrii Krishchenko, said that near the building of the Verkhovna Rada, the police conducts investigative actions by a court decision within criminal proceedings. Krishchenko stressed that the measures are taken in two criminal cases: on the fact of attempts to capture the International Center for Culture and Arts (October Palace) and on the events of February 27 near the building of the Verkhovna Rada.

QHA reported that police forces surrounded the tent city of supporters of Mikheil Saakashvili near the Verkhovna Rada.
