The Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources monitors the material losses of Ukraine in Crimea and Donbas.

According to a QHA correspondent, the Head of the Ministry of Ecology Ostap Semerak told how the data is collected at the press conference resulting the first hundred days of his work at the ministerial post.

 - I gave instructions to the central authorities of executive power, whose activity I coordinate. Thus the State Ecology Inspection, the State Service of Geology and Mineral resources, the State Agency of Water Resources, as well as the administrations of National parks calculated property losses, the loss of natural resources and damage to the environment. We have already got the first results, Semerak said.

He noted that this information should be regularly updated, because the situation is constantly changing.

- The Russian Army missiles are launched in the Crimean National Parks, oil is merged in the Black Sea. And if we talk about the consequences of military operations in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, damage to the environment is caused there every day, the Minister said.

According to him, information gathering is complicated due to limited access to the occupied territories. Therefore Semerak initiates the satellite-based monitoring organization, which could also benefit to other Ukrainian authorities.

He noted that on the basis of the received data, the lawsuits will be prepared to apply to the international courts.

- We will pass on these figures to our colleagues from the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, which is preparing a legal claim against the Russian Federation. Our strategy is the international pressure on the aggressor and the presentation of all claims for compensation, the Minister Vladimir Bobechko stressed.
