Mejlis of Crimean Tatar people stops cooperation with Crimean authorities and recalls Mejlis representatives from the government.
Following decision was made at the field sitting of Mejlis, held with the participation of Crimean Tatar leader Mustafa Jemilev on July 4-5 in Genichesk, mainland Ukraine.
“In view of the current situation and the lack of opportunities for cooperation with Crimean authorities and impossibility for constructive dialogue, Mejlis of Crimean Tatar people made a decision to recall its representatives from Crimean government. The majority of Mejlis members backed this decision”- head of Mejlis Department for National Media Development Gayana Yuksel noted.
To recall, in April 2014, Mejlis of Crimean Tatar people made a decision to cooperate with Crimean authorities and nominated 2 candidates -- Lenur Islyamov and Zaur Smirniv -- to Crimean Parliament.
