Mejlis of Crimean Tatar people is unable to counteract Crimean authorities and is leaving the building, where Mejlis central office is located.
Head of Mejlis of Crimean Tatar people, who is in Kyiv over his ban to enter Crimea for 5 years, announced, DePo informs.
“We have no strength to counteract Crimean authorities. The decision of the “court” reads that if we refuse [to leave the building], we will be evicted from there by force”- Chubarov said.
Head of Mejlis is confident that Crimean authorities do not need the building of Mejlis.
“There is the only structure in Crimea which is able to unite people who disagree with Crimean occupation. Crimean authorities want to crush the Mejlis, to destroy and deprive it of dignity and honor”- Chubarov stated.
September 16, FSB officers searched the Mejlis central office in Simferopol for 12 hours, seizing documents, protocols, USB flesh cards, Islamic literature and computers. They demanded the Mejlis building to be left within 24 hours, otherwise, people would be evicted by force.
Mejlis of Crimean Tatar people considers the incident as an attempt to liquidate the Mejlis.
