A Mejlis office will soon be opened in Brussels, Guidhall online publication cites Refat Chubarov as saying in an interview with BBC Ukraine.
“Let me remind you that only 4 of 33 Mejlis members agreed to cooperate with the occupantion authorities. Despite being in mainland Ukraine and barred from entering Crimea, 8 Mejlis members are now working hard to keep our people on our land, in occupied Crimea. It took us a very long time, nearly half a century, to return to our homeland. And there we shall stay,” Chubarov said.
According to Chubarov, the decision to ban the Mejlis in occupied Crimea has already been made in Moscow. Chubarov emphasized that the Crimean Tatars are the only organized force that did not recognize annexation of Crimea.
