KIEV(QHA) -

In keeping with its tradition of holding annual meetings with heads of diplomatic missions and representatives of international organizations started by Mustafa Jemilev in 2011, the Mejlis announced a new meeting called ‘Human rights violations and persecutions of Crimean Tatars in Russian-occupied Crimea: Chances of being protected by Ukraine and international community’.

According to Mejlis senior members, Crimean Tatars are facing multiple challenges today requiring resolute and concerted action. By securing the backing of the Ukrainian people, Ukrainian government and international community, the Mejlis is seeking to come up with a strategy of protecting the rights of all Ukrainian citizens who are either staying in Russian-occupied Crimea or living in exile elsewhere.

The meeting will be attended by Mustafa Jemilev, Leader of Crimean Tatars, Ukrainian MP and Advisor to Ukrainian President for Crimean Tatar Affairs, and Refat Chubarov, Mejlis Chairman, Ukrainian MP and President of the World Congress of Crimean Tatars.
