At the sitting of Mejlis of Crimean Tatar people on March 20, head of the Mejlis Refat Chubarov made a statement “On respect for human rights in Crimea”, press service of Mejlis reported.
“Events that are taking place in Crimea concern all of us, irrespective of nationality, religion and political convictions. In this difficult situation, our task is to maintain peace on Crimean land, to guarantee the safety of lives of Crimea residents along with strengthening the trust and cooperation within multinational Crimean society”- reads the statement.
Chubarov pointed out Crimean Tatars face threats in public transport, shops and educational institutions of Crimea.
In this regard, the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people instructed regional and local offices of Mejlis to fix all the facts of moral and physical pressure, abuse of human and national dignity, threats of physical abuse, misappropriation of private property and other forms of aggression.
“None of these illegal actions will be left unpunished” – Chubarov stressed.
