Simferopol (QHA) -

The election of Sergey Aksyonov head of Crimea will influence the relations with Mejlis, deputy head of Mejlis of Crimean Tatar people Nariman Jelal said, noting that Aksyonov’s election was not surprising.

“Very few people could suppose anyone else except Aksyonov to be elected for the post. That was not surprising”- Jelal said.

Parliament elections took place in Crimea Sept 14, new head of Crimea and Crimean government have already been elected. People who started their work now have no feeling that their work is temporary. Since now they are responsible for everything taking place in Crimea- Jelal said. I dare suppose and hope that all the sides have already made it sure that it is necessary to create a dialogue between Mejlis and the government”.

However, according to Jelal, there are no prerequisites for the dialogue yet.

“Unfortunately, the government keeps on trying to exclude Mejlis from negotiating process, trying to find new persons or organizations which could demonstrate the involvement of Crimean Tatars in the political process in Crimea. Such attempts have been made earlier, but did not succeed”- Jelal said.

Sergey Aksyonov and his crew should make a conclusion. His election gives him a chance to turn the page and say “this was before, but now I am ready to see the matter different”- Jelal summed up.

To recall, Crimea's parliament has elected Sergey Aksyonov head of Crimea in a unanimous vote Oct 9.
