Mejlis: Blockade consequences will be felt in a week

“Сonsequences of the blockade will be felt in a week after Crimean businessmen have run out of the supplies they stocked up on before the blockade”, said Ilmi Umerov, Mejlis Deputy Chairman, in an interview televised by the 5th Channel.

“The price situation is very volatile now. We are witnessing prices for products like bread, onions and potatoes soaring. Businessmen who purchased their products from mainland Ukraine have stashed a supply of them in their warehouses and freezers”, Umerov said.

Ilmi Umerov stressed that the blockade’s consequences will be felt in a week’s time.

As of September 20, trucks carrying food and goods from mainland Ukraine have been prevented from entering Crimea.
