Meeting against anti-Crimean Tatar book started

Today, an all- Crimean meeting against the controversial book “Memory book of Eastern Crimea. Asked to remember”, which justifies deportation of Crimean Tatars from Crimea, is being held at the building of Kirovskiy district state administration, QHA correspondent reports.

More than 300 people from all over Crimea take part in the meeting. The participants hold posters ‘The authors to be under the trial’, ‘Stop throwing mud at Crimean Tatar people’ and others.

Among the participants are 1st vice-head of Mejlis of Crimean Tatar people, MP of Crimea Refat Chubarov, head of Mejlis Secretariat Zair Smedlyaev and head of Kirovskiy district Mejlis Ekrem Abdulvatov.

As reported earlier, a book called “Memory book of Eastern Crimea “Asked to remember” that justifies deportation of the Crimean Tatar people from Crimea in 1944 was published in Kirovskiy district of Crimea on the funds from the district budget.

According to its authors, Vladimir and Maria Shirshovs, the book should attain the status of a textbook. With that purpose, the book was disseminated in schools and libraries of Kirovskiy district.
