KYIV (QHA) -

Human rights defenders, activists and relatives of Ukrainian political prisoners unlawfully held in Russia asked the President of France Emmanuel Macron to require the release to Ukrainian political prisoners from the President of Russia Vladimir Putin. The demand was expressed before the meeting of two Presidents. They also urged to enhance sanctions against Russia “for persecution, unlawful detention and torture of dissidents in the occupied territories“.

The letter should be handed to France by People's Deputy of Ukraine Hanna Hopko.

A copy of the letter was published by the People’s Deputy in Facebook.

Reportedly, the meeting of the President of France and President of Russia should be held on May 29 in Versailles.
