AQMESCİT/SIMFEROPOL (QHA) - As reported, a bill of “genocide against the Armenians” submitted to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine by three MPs-ethnic Armenians: Arsen Avakov (Batkivshchyna), Vilen Shatvorian and Nver Mkhitarian (Regions Party) will be not adopted by the parliament. This is stated by the member of the Batkivshchyna group, the Chairman of the Majlis of Crimean Tatar nation Mustafa Cemil.
“If even this bill will be approved I do not believe the president has the courage to sign it”, - Mr. Cemil said.
According to him, elaboration of this law in draft is hasty and groundless step: “There are the Turkic peoples in Ukraine several times more than the Armenians. Authors of this bill should understand to what threatening aftermath can lead the adoption of it. Relationships between Ukraine and Azerbaijan, Turkey, other Turkic states will become worse. The government must consider carefully this step”.
MP Cemil stated one of authors of the law in draft Arsen Avakov is the member of their Batkivshchyna group and he would discuss this matter with him: “I shall say him this step is not admissible. If the deputy group support this decision that I cannot remain in the group. At the same time, we shall tell to other deputies this step hit at the interests of Ukraine”.
Also Mr. M. Cemil added it is not ruled out the Turkic peoples of Ukraine would conduct joint mass action if the parliament approves the law of “genocide against the Armenians”.
