Ukraine must legalize prostitution, reported Ukrainian News, citing Yuriy Lutsenko, the leader of the Petro Poroshenko Block Party in parliament.

- It may undermine a huge shady business and criminality feeding on illegal prostitution, said Lutsenko when asked by reporters about the grounds of the proposition.

MP added that despite statements saying that legalization can be considered as a source of budget pumping up, "nowhere in the world prostitution is taken as income to the state budget."

Earlier on, the Head of the Metropolitan Police Alexander Tereshchuk also backed up the legalization of prostitution.

At a rough guess, one prostitute working as an enteprenuer from Monday to Friday at the average income of UAH 2500 / night, could be obliged to pay to the state budget over 2015 UAH1461 single tax, and UAH 5124 single social due fee. If she is officially employed and receives declared salary, the amount of monthly treasury payments will be about UAH 13 409. According to 2014, close to 50 thousand ladies of the night worked in Ukraine.
