Latvia claims it does not recognize the annexation of Crimea and will always support Ukraine, Latvia’s President Raimonds Vejonis stated while meeting with Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, the President’s press service reports. 

“Latvia will never recognize the annexation of Crimea and will always support Ukraine,” said Raimonds Vejonis.

Latvian President also stressed the inadmissibility of violation of international law by the Russian side. He emphasized that the European Union and his country support the independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine, as well as strict observance of international law and sanctions against those who violate them.
