According to the Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People Refat Chubarov, the international community’s delay in taking active decisions toward actions of the Russian Federation can end tragically for the Crimean people and for Europe as well.

- We do not really know how to convince our Western partners that the delay in taking stronger measures toward Russia is already fraught with danger, which can blast in Crimea. This may be the lives of tens and hundreds of people. It also may explode on the Ukraine-Russia border or, maybe, in one of the Baltic countries. We are wasting time given to put Russia in the framework of the international law. We should do it quicker. And this is the main problem of Ukrainian politicians and our closest partners, Mejlis Chairman told April 19 in an interview with one of the Ukrainian TV Channels.

As QHA reported earlier, April 18, Russian Ministry of Justice suspended the activities of the representative body of Crimean Tatars by the decision of the illegitimate Prosecutor of Crimea.

April 15, the hearing in the “Mejlis case” was adjourned until April, 25. One of the reasons was the absence of the Mejlis Deputy Chairman Nariman Dzhelyal.

April 13, 2016, the "Prosecutor of Crimea" Natalia Poklonskaya claimed the activities of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People were put on hold in Crimea and this decision would be valid pending a verdict by "the Supreme Court of Crimea."
