The Ukrainian Prosecutor General’s Office opened a criminal case regarding electricity supplies to Crimea, Ukraine's Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin announced.

"Yes, there is a criminal proceeding regarding Crimea, and it is being investigated,"- Shokin said, answering the question whether the case on the supply of electricity to Crimea based on information submitted to the General Prosecutor's Office by the government commission was initiated.

Ukrainian Prime Minister Yatseniuk ordered to carry out an internal inquiry on the contracts for the supply of energy to Crimea concluded between State Enterprise Ukrinterenergo and the Russian Inter RAO.

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine submitted the results of the investigation to the Internal Ministry, the General Prosecutor's Office and the SBU Feb.
