Kurbedinov: Detained in Pionerske will be released in hour

Law enforcement officers, who detained a Crimean Tatar the village of Pionerske this morning, admitted they did it by mistake.

Emil Kurbedinov, a lawyer, shared information about the detainee on his Facebook page:

"I've got a phone call from Eider Azamatov (a lawyer for today's search in Pionerske). He visited the detainee and said that the he would be released within an hour. Allegedly, he was detained by mistake!" he wrote.

It was reported earlier that Zair Smedlyaev, told about the details of search in the Crimean Tatar's house in the village of Pionerske this morning.

Russian security forces searched a mosque in the village of Vishennoye, Belogorsk district, on the evening of May13.

On May12, the Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Refat Chubarov voiced his concern about a new wave of raids after the security forces had invaded the Caravanserai “Salachik” Crimean Tatar Cultural Center in Bakhchysarai. On that day, Zevri Abseitov, Remzi Memetov, Rustem Abiltarov and Enver Mamutov were arrested.

The so-called Crimean prosecutor Natalia Poklonskaya called the detainees terrorists, accusing them of involvement in "Hizb ut-Tahrir" international political party.

On May 6, armed men raided a mosque in the village of Molodizhne, Simferopol district, during Jumu'ah and detained more than 100 Muslims. On the way to the intended destination, they were released but ordered to show up at the police station.

According to the Deputy Chairman of the Mejlis Ilmi Umerov - who was also detained on May 12 and released on recognizance not to leave - the FSB (Russian Security Service) by all above mentioned actions is attempting to intimidate the representatives of the Crimean Tatar people on the eve of the 72nd anniversary of deportation of the Crimean Tatars, which falls on next Wednesday, May 18, 2016.
