Immediately on his arrival to the town of Kopeisk in Russia’s Chelyabinsk region, Alexander Kolchenko was placed in a punishment cell for improperly greeting the facility’s personnel, Kolchenko’s mother Larisa said in an interview aired by Hromadske TV.

“Right after arriving at a penitentiary facility in the town of Kopeisk of the Chelyabinsk region, he was placed in a punishment cell. He was barely there for a day and his only transgression was that he greeted the facility’s personnel in a wrong way,” the woman said.

It was reported earlier that Oleg Sentsov and Alexander Kolchenko were convicted on trumped up terrorism charges and sentenced to 20 and 10 years in prison respectively. It became known later on that the political prisoners would be taken from Moscow to Chelyabinsk to serve their prison terms.
