Leader of the UDAR party Vitali Klitschko believes that a single candidate from the opposition at the future presidential elections should be Petro Poroshenko. Klitschko himself took a decision to run for the post of Kyiv city Mayor. He said about this at the 11th All-Ukrainian congress of the UDAR Party, according to Ukrinform.
“The future President should be supported by people... Votes should not be spread, since the elections should unite the people. I always insisted on nominating a single candidate from the opposition, since he should get the highest chance. Today, Petro Poroshenko is such a candidate from the opposition, since I nominate my candidature for a post of Kyiv Mayor,” Klitschko said.
“I took a weighted decision to run for the post of Kyiv Mayor in order to make Kyiv the European capital,” Klitschko said.
