Kyiv (QHA) - UDAR Party leader Vitali Klitschko is currently the absolute leader of the sympathy of residents of Kyiv, and a great number of them would like to see him as city mayor, according to a public opinion survey conducted by Research & Branding Group from June 25 to July 5, 2013, reads a statement posted on the group's website, reports Ukrinform. "Klitschko is currently the leader of the sympathy of residents of Kyiv - 18% of those polled individually named him as a person whom they would like to see as mayor, whereas 10% of respondents named [incumbent Head of Kyiv City State Administration Oleksandr] Popov and 5% named [independent lawmaker Petro] Poroshenko," according to the study. If Klitschko participated in the election, the top three would be the following: 33.1% would vote for Klitschko, 16.2% for Popov, and 11.1% for Poroshenko. However, if Klitschko did not claim the post of Kyiv mayor, the positions of major candidates would change - Poroshenko and Popov become the leaders of electoral sympathies with the same result of 18.2%, and Mykola Katerynchuk closes the top three (11.2%). Some 72% of respondents who expressed their readiness to vote most want to see as Kyiv mayor a person independent of the opposition and the ruling party.
