(QHA) -

Seitumer Nimetullaev, head of “Kirim Birligi”-- Crimean Tatar organization that opposes to Mejlis -- announced his intention to conduct elections to Kurultay, Crimean Tatar National Council.

Nimetullaev announced this during conference held in Simferopol, Sept 21.

“We, together with you, will conduct Kurultay elections in 2015. These will be clear elections with review board, to allow people to choose their representatives. There is no other way”- Nimetullaev said.

Commenting the statement, head of Central Electoral Commission of Kurultay Zair Smedlyaev noted that the decision on conducting elections can be made at Kurultay session only.

“Kurultay of Crimean Tatar people is unite body, it make decisions on conducting elections and then commit Kurultay’s Central Electoral Commission to the arrangement of these elections. There were Kurultay elections last year, and the next ones should be conducted in 5 years. It is not them (the Kirim birligi,-ed.) to decide when the elections to be held”- Smedlyaev said.

“If anyone want to create organization with similar name [Kurultay], let him say “kurultay of russian tatars”, or “tatars of Aksyonov (Crimean Prime Minister,-ed.)”. Those, running from one political party to another, shouldn’t decide where the Kurultay to take place”- he added.

Earlier, Crimean Tatar leader Mustafa Jemilev announced, that the next Kurultay may be conducted outside of Crimea.
