NEW YORK (QHA) -

“I hope this is what we will be working on in the next three months. There is a potential for reaching progress and resolving the situation in eastern Ukraine,” said Kerry in an interview aired by MSNBC.

The State Secretary also said he was planning to meet Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on Wednesday. This will be a third time the two Foreign Ministers meet for talks.

Kerry’s statement comes against the backdrop of the 70th UN General Assembly, currently being held in New York and attended by a number of world leaders, including Pyotr Poroshenko, Vladimir Putin and Barak Obama.
