Jemilev: Russia stationed nuclear weapons in Crimea

If proved true, that will mean that reclaiming Crimea militarily is out of the question.

Reclaiming Crimea militarily is not an option, said Mustafa Jemilev, Leader of Crimean Tatars, in a December 16 interview with Focus publication.

“Russia has stationed nuclear weapons in Crimea,” Jemilev said citing his own sources.

According to Jemilev, Russians are almost done overhauling a nuclear installation in the Kyzyltash area outside Yalta which has fallen into disrepair and disuse following Ukraine’s signing of the Budapest memorandum in 1994.

Jemilev claims missiles capable of carrying nuclear warheads have been brought into Crimea as well.
