About 100 Crimean Tatars are currently taking part in pro-EU rallies in Kyiv. Leader of the Crimean Tatar people Mustafa Jemilev and head of Mejlis of Crimean Tatar people Refat Chubarov join them after their workdays, EU-rally activist Alim Veliullah said to QHA agency.

About 100 Crimean Tatars from different regions of Crimea are participating in protests in Kyiv, including Crimean Tatar students who study in Kyiv.

“A typical day of Crimean Tatar community in Kyiv involves participating in protest meetings. They cook food and treat their fellow participants to it. All actions are coordinated with the opposition (to current government-ed.),” says Veliullah.

The activist told about moods prevailing among the protesters:

“People believe that something will change in the near future. People understand that it is just the beginning and are ready to struggle and defend their interests. Every day more buses with people are arriving from different regions of Ukraine,” told Veliullah.
