Crimean Tatar leader, former head of Mejlis of Crimean Tatar people Mustafa Jemilev, who is paying official visit to U.S, does not support the decision of Mejlis to delegate 2 representatives to Crimean Parliament.

He announced this in his interview to Ukrinform.

“I don’t share this point of view [to delegate Crimean Tatars to Crimean parliament, - ed.]. not now, anyhow. But we should understand, there are issues of about 300 thousand Crimean Tatars that are to be settled. – Jemilev said. Still the fact Crimean Tatars were delegated to Crimean Parliament does not mean that Mejlis recognize the current status of Crimea” – he added.

“It is very difficult now to say what is right and what is wrong. I live in Kyiv now, but my compatriots live in occupation regime without knowing what may happen – the leader emphasized. So I am not going to condemn them.”- he added.

To recall, Mejlis of Crimean Tatar people made a decision to cooperate with Crimean authorities.

Lenur Islyamov was appointed Crimean deputy premier, and Zaur Smirnov appointed head of the republican committee for nationalities and deported citizens.
