Mustafa Jemilev, Leader of the Crimean Tatars and Commissioner of President of Ukraine on Crimean Tatars Affairs, held a meeting with Mevlut Cavusoglu, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey, in Strasbourg, Mustafa Jemilev wrote on his Facebook page.
“The proposal to establish a special international cooperation format allowing us to work closely on the issues of de-occupation of Crimea was discussed during the meeting,” reads the statement.
Jemilev proposed to create an international group, which will include the countries signatories of the Budapest Memorandum 1994 and Turkey.
“This idea has already been discussed with the President and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, and has been supported by them. Mevlut Cavusoglu supported this initiative, as well. This issue will be discussed in details in February this year, during the visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey to Kyiv,” Jemilev stated.
