KYIV (QHA) -

The official welcoming ceremony of the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and the President of the State of Israel Reuven Rivlin was held on the square in front of the Presidential Administration of Ukraine.  Reuven Rivlin is currently in Ukraine on a state visit, according to a QHA correspondent. The official welcoming ceremony of the President of Israel began with the national anthems of Ukraine and Israel, then, the two leaders inspected the guards of honor and presented their delegation.

Following the ceremony Petro Poroshenko and Reuven Rivlin had a meeting in the "eye to eye" format, which will be followed by negotiation of Ukrainian and Israel delegations, chaired by the Presidents of the two states.

At a subsequent press conference, the Presidents of Ukraine and Israel announced that they had agreed to accelerate the process of signing the agreement on free trade zone between the two countries.

“We have agreed to accelerate the signing of the Agreement on free trade zone, because this is the only anti-crisis measure, which is absolutely mutual,” Poroshenko said.

President of Ukraine confirmed the intention to demonstrate the progress in this regard.

“This will be one more argument for increasing the Israeli investments in Ukraine,” he said.

The Presidents of Ukraine and Israel will attend the Parliamentary hearings in the Verkhovna Rada on the "75th anniversary of the Babi Yar tragedy: The lessons of history and the present." The President of the State of Israel will speak in the Ukrainian Parliament and will take part in a joint meeting of Parliamentary groups for inter-parliamentary relations between the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and the Knesset of the State of Israel.

September 29, the Presidents of Ukraine and the State of Israel together with their spouses will attend the mourning ceremony of the 75th anniversary of the tragedy in Babi Yar.
