MOSCOW (QHA) -

A claim of Ismet Yuksel against Russian Security Service (FSB) decision to ban him from entering Crimea to be considered April 7, Yuksel’s lawyer Ilarion Vasilyev said.

Ismet Yuksel-- Mejlis Advisor on Affairs with Turkey, General Coordinator of Crimean News Agency—was banned from entering Crimea for 5 years, after being turned back on August 9th when he tried to enter Crimea from mainland Ukraine.

The authorities gave Yuksel no reason when he was turned away along with his family as they were returning from Turkey. Later his case was marked top secret.

Yuksel is the third prominent Crimean Tatar to be barred from Crimea since its unification with Russia in March, along with Crimean Tatar leader Mustafa Jemilev and head of the Crimean Tatar Mejlis Refat Chubarov. All of them are accused of “extremist activity and inciting interethnic hatred”.
