The event was held within the framework of the agreements reached during the official visit of the Ukrainian Minister of Foreign Affairs Pavel Klimkin to Iran in May this year.
During the consultations a range of cooperation issues in the consular field was discussed. Namely the migration and visa issues, the protection of the citizens rights and freedoms, the implementation of bilateral agreements in the field of legal proceedings, criminal proceedings and extradition of offenders; cooperation between law enforcement agencies of the two countries, tourism development, experience exchange, and the like.
Special attention was paid to the further travel simplification for both countries according to the MFA website.
During the visit, Ukrainian Director of the Consular Service Department Andrei Sibigi met with Hasan Qashqavi, the Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Consular Affairs, in cases of Iranians abroad and Mejlis.
Also the Head of the DCS MFA of Ukraine met with the Ukrainians who live in Iran, and answered their numerous questions.
