According to Grigoriy Ioffe, Head of the Audit Chamber of Crimea, a food blockade currently being organized by Ukrainian MPs Refat Chubarov and Mustafa Jemilev violates certain articles of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation and ‘encroaches on territorial integrity of Russia’.
‘By making statements like these, they are calling into question Russia’s territorial integrity, and there’s punishment for that in the Criminal Code. They should consider the consequences”, Ioffe is quoted as saying by RIA Novosti news agency.
Just a reminder: an initiative group made up of Crimean Tatars and Ukrainian patriots announced a forthcoming peaceful blockade aimed at temporarily cutting food supplies to Crimea due to ongoing repressions against Crimean Tatars and other nationalities on the peninsula.
In their turn, the Crimean authorities said they were fully prepared to the forthcoming transport and food blockade undertaken by Ukraine.
