Investigation launched into the kidnapping of two Crimean Tatars

Crimean office of Russia's Investigative Committee has launched an investigation into the apparent kidnapping of two Crimean Tatars.

It comes after dozens of Crimean Tatars protested against the apparent kidnapping in the village of Sary Su on September 29.

In a statement on September 29, the committee said unknown men in military uniforms forced the two ethnic Tatars into a vehicle near the town of Belogorsk on September 27.

Two young Crimean Tatars-- Islyam Dzhepparov and his cousin Dzhevdet Islyamov-- were abducted in Crimean city of Belogorsk. Their present whereabouts remains unknown.

To recall, in March, Crimean Tatar activist Reshat Ametov, father of three, was seized by unknown men; laterhe  was found dead. The incident is not investigated yet.
