The self-proclaimed "Head" of the Crimea Sergey Aksenov has signed a decree on the appointment of Andrei Melnikov on the post of "Minister of Economic Development of the republic", Center for Investigative Journalism reports with reference to the corresponding decree.
Andrei Melnikov had previously worked in the Committee on budget, taxes and the banks of the State Duma of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of the Russian economy. In 1998 he joined the group on the creation of the Agency for Restructuring Credit Organizations and later worked on the liquidation of banks. He held the position of Director General of the State Corporation "Deposit Insurance Agency" since 2004.
December 21 at the meeting of the so-called "State Council of the Republic of Crimea", MPs agreed on the appointment of Pavel Korolev to the position of the "Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Crimea." Pavel Korolev was the Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation from June 13, 2012 till December 15, 2016. On December 15 he resigned after a month since his immediate superior, the Minister of Economic Development of Russia Aleksei Ulyukayev had been arrested on suspicion of corruption.
