‘Inkishaf’ wants Dzhemilev to stay head of Mejlis

Simferopol (QHA) - Leader of the Crimean Tatar public organization “Inkishaf” Eskender Bilyalov made a statement supporting some members of the Crimean Tatar national movement, that Mustafa Dzhemilev should stay head of Mejlis. He appealed to Kurultay delegates supporting the open letter of veterans of national movement regarding the stay of Dzhemilev as head of Mejlis. In his statement Eskender Bilyalov noted, that such important for Crimean Tatars issues as adopting the law of Ukraine on “Restoration of rights of people deported on ethnic grounds”, preparation of the International Forum on restoration of rights of Crimean Tatars and other issues were initiated by Mustafa Dzhemilev. Thus they should be accomplished under his leadership. Otherwise the process may last for years. Bilyalov finished the statement by asking delegates of Kurultay of Crimean Tatar people of VI convocation to support nomination of Dzhemilev for the post of Head of Mejlis again. Out of 39 members of “Inkishaf” organization, who participated in the Kurultay election campaign in 2013, 38 supported the statement, while 1 refrained. Note: On 21 August 2013, during the press conference, active members and veterans of the Crimean Tatar national movement appealed with an open letter to delegates of Kurultay of Crimean Tatar people of VI convocation to support their initiative to elect Mustafa Dzhemilev as head of Mejlis of Crimean Tatar people over again during Kurultay session.
