Today, on October 7, an international forum entitled “Islamic call on the post-Soviet space and Hizb ut-Tahrir: Realities and Challenges” by Hizb-ut-tahrir organization was to be held in Simferopol.

However, Hizb-ut-tahrir representatives were banned from entering the Crimean Academic Ukrainian Musical Theater where the forum was to take place. The law enforcement officers didn’t name the reasons for this.

Hizb-ut-tahrir held the meeting in front of the theater building, with about 500-600 participants. The reports planned for the forum were made at the meeting.

Head of information office of Hizb-ut-tahrir in Ukraine Fazil Amzaev commented the accident.

“I would like to appeal to the public. Today administration of the Ukrainian Theater broke our agreement unilaterally without giving any justification. Despite of this, we didn’t give in to provocations and are holding peaceful protest….We’ve been facing such provocations throughout the year with our conferences, seminars…And those, who cause provocations are not public organizations but countries who oppose our openness….But we will continue our activities, we will continue to stay public,” said Amzaev.

Protest participants left after they’ve listened to the brief versions of reports planned for the forum.

As reported earlier, the forum entitled “Islamic call on the post-Soviet space and Hizb ut-Tahrir: Realities and Challenges” was planned by Hizb-ut-tahrir organization for October 7-8.

According to Fazil Amzaev the purpose of the forum was to highlight the activities of Hizb ut-Tahrir in the world and in the former Soviet Union, to present its goals and objectives.

The organizer of the forum is the information office of Islamic political party Hizb-ut-tahrir in Ukraine with the support of Central information office of the party (Beirut, Lebanon).
