KYIV (QHA) -

In the presidential bill on the reintegration of the occupied territories, the Crimea and the Donbas are divided, since "the methodology for the returning territories will be different."

The First Deputy Chair of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Irina Herashchenko made a corresponding statement on her Facebook page.

“Why are the issue of Crimea and Donbas divided in the law?  We still fight for the return of Donbas and Crimea, but even in international law the situation with these stolen Ukrainian territories is determined by different terminology: Crimea is annexed, creeping annexation is observed in Donbas, Russians refuse to recognize their presence there. The methodology of the return of these territories will also be different, this is obvious,” she wrote.

Furthermore, Gerashchenko stated the necessity to legislatively highlight the presence of the Russian Federation in the Donbas.

Earlier QHA reported that on October 6, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine in the first reading adopted a presidential bill on the reintegration of Donbas.

Speaker Andrei Parubiy said that the paragraph on the Minsk agreements was removed from the law on the reintegration of the Donbas and the Verkhovna Rada thus recognized that Russia is an aggressor state.

According to the bill, in case of martial law declaration in certain areas of Donetsk and Lugansk regions, the powers of regional, district and village councils are terminated
