Heavy fighting has been reported on the outskirts of the flashpoint eastern Ukrainian city of Slavyansk, RFE/RL reports.
Ukrainian Interior Minister Arsen Avakov was quoted as saying that there have been "deaths" as troops fight pro-Russian militants who control the city.
Meanwhile, one man is killed and 10 are wounded in Dzerzhynsk town in Donetsk region in a shooting between the group of armed unknown people and the supporters of local private entrepreneur.
Armed insurgents attacked a police department in another eastern city of Slovyanoserbsk, Luhansk region.
The government has vowed to continue an "antiterrorist" operation until it regains control.
